Street Improvement Project –

Phase Two Begins May 27

Starting Tuesday, May 27, the City of Eau Claire will begin Phase Two of the street improvement project that started in the North Barstow business neighborhood on April 14. This phase will close North Barstow Street from Madison Street to the riverfront near the Andante Apartments. During construction the sidewalks will remain open to access businesses.

Timeline:
Construction is expected to be completed around June 20.

Access During Construction:
Galloway Street will remain open for crossing Barstow, allowing continued access to local businesses, Phoenix Park, and the North Barstow parking ramp -- which will be free to use during this period.

​

Project Work Includes:

• Removing pavers from crosswalks and replacing them with stamped concrete

• Replacing select sections of sidewalk and installing pavers in boulevard areas

• Upgrading ADA ramps at corners

• Repairing or replacing sections of curb and gutter

• Adjusting manhole covers
