Posted: September 9, 2015 BE (Built Environment) Fit Forum II
Did you know where we live, work and play affects your health? Built environments such as downtowns or neighborhoods, and the various socio-economic factors found in these places, are actually greater determinants to health than genetics or clinical care. Thus, this event seeks to move upstream from the patient bed and look at how the built environment can be designed to make the healthy choice the easy one. Downtown is a great example because it demonstrates how people can physically walk from where they live to work, retail, and parks instead of always driving. No wonder the popularity of downtown is growing! As a partner sponsor, DECI encourages you to attend this free event.
