The Eau Claire City Council accepted on Tuesday the downtown parking study done by Andy Miller of the consulting firm Carl Walker.
The council's 9-0 vote acknowledges that the report is finished, but does not bind the city to carry out its recommendations.
The report advises the city to build a new four-level parking ramp, improve its old ramp, increase parking law enforcement, reconfigure existing public lots and establish a parking utility.
City engineer Dave Solberg said the city will now prioritize the recommendations and decide which ones to pursue.
