Posted: August 7, 2014 Jump Start winners announced

The Jump Start Competition promotes the development of businesses, housing, cultural resources, and activities within Downtown Eau Claire.  There were seven business plans turned this year to be judge by a panel of five judges.  Today (Wednesday) winners were announced at an awards luncheon. 


The Grand Prize winner for Downtown Eau Claire, Inc.'s Jump-Start Business Plan Competition is Offbeats Violin and Guitar, and owners John and Rose Vincent. They will be receiving $5,000 in start-up cash for their business and a DECI media package valued at more than $500 to help promote the business.

The 2014 Runner Up is The Eau Claire Brewing Project and owner Will Glass.  Glass will receive a DECI media package valued at more than $500.

The third prize and winner of the Innovative Idea package, which consists of a $1,000 scholarship from the Small Business Development Center for entrepreneurial training is awarded to Galaudet Gallery.  Owners are a brother and sister duo, Mike Milewski and Vicki Milewski.
