Posted: January 30, 2014 Revival Records moving down the street to a larger space
With a move just down the street, Revival Records will soon be able to not only sell music, but have a place for bands to play music.
Revival Records, currently at 418 S. Barstow Street will be moving just three blocks down to 128 S. Barstow, which is the former When I'm 64 retail store.
Billy Siegel, owner of the record store said he wanted to stay in downtown Eau Claire.
"I wanted to have a place that can have an all-age venue," said Siegel.
He said the main reason for the move was to have the ability to host local bands. He said the When I'm 64 space was fitting for what he wanted. Owners of When I'm 64 remodeled to have a performance space and stage.
Siegel also wanted to move the store because he needed more room. The store will have more genres and albums available because of the extra space, as well as an expanded clothing section.
"I’ll have other stuff to sell, but we’re still primarily a records store. My main focus is still on vinyl," said Siegel.
Work for the move began Jan. 1, starting with the walls and flooring. Siegel said the grand re-opening should be around, March 1.
