Posted: September 12, 2013 Downtown Eau Claire will be Turned Teal
An Eau Claire woman wants to turn the town teal. Since her mother's diagnosis of ovarian cancer two years ago, Courtney Paul noticed there wasn't a lot being done in the Eau Claire area in regards to making people aware of the cancer and its symptoms.
Turn the Towns Teal is a national campaign during the month of September to raise awareness about ovarian cancer. Paul has received a proclamation from the Eau Claire City Council recognizing September as Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. She will be turning Downtown Eau Claire teal this Saturday, asking Downtown merchants to display teal ribbons. Volunteers will also be handing out symptom cards to people throughout downtown and in Phoenix Park beginning at 10:00 a.m. this Saturday.
