Posted: April 4, 2013 52nd Street Celebration Returning to Downtown Eau Claire
As part of the 2013 Eau Claire Jazz Festival, in conjunction with the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Eau Claire Jazz, Inc. will host the Second Annual 52nd Street celebration on Friday, April 5th
The 52nd Street event is designed to bring many jazz and jazz related live performances to the public along a walking strip of our city. Venues participating this year include Acoustic Café, Pizza Plus, Ramada Inn, The Mouse Trap, The Stones Throw, and Valleybrook Café. Community members and those attending the festival are encouraged to go from place to place to hear great music in the old style as it was back in New York City in the middle of the last century, when jazz was forming and growing.
New York City's historic 52nd street was renowned in the mid-20th century for the abundance of jazz clubs and lively street life. Jazz enthusiasts could hear music from jazz legends as they honed in on their talents and perfected their craft.
This event is free to the public, but donations will be accepted to support continued live jazz music events in the community. For more information regarding the 52nd Street event or the Eau Claire Jazz Festival visit eauclairejazz.com
