EAU CLAIRE, WI – Downtown Eau Claire, Inc. (DECI) is excited to announce the six applicants for the 13th Annual Jump-Start Downtown Business Plan Competition. They are:
- Adam and Alicia Condit; Blue Ox Running LLC
- Elizabeth de Cleyre, Jill Heinke Moen, and Margaret Leonard; Dotters Books, Inc.
- Rachael Duffenbach and Michelle Anthony; Moonrise Aerials, LLC
- Jeff Reuter and Matt Schwahn; Northbound Supply Company, LLC
- Sean Brandenburg, Daniel Green, Laura Lash, and Aaron Salmon; SHIFT Cyclery & Coffee Bar
- Shantel Welk; Sky Yoga
All applicants are invited to make a presentation and interview with this year’s judges. Interviews are scheduled for Thursday, September 28 in the Council Chambers of the Eau Claire City Hall. DECI is proud to announce the following judges for this year’s program:

DECI will announce the winners of the 13th Annual Jump-Start Downtown Eau Claire Business Competition during an Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, October 10 at 11:30am. The reception will be held at the Royal Credit Union Corporate Center at 200 Riverfront Terrace in Downtown Eau Claire. This year’s luncheon will feature a talk from Blayne Midthun of Ramone’s Ice Cream Parlor, last year’s first prize winner, who will talk about the startup process, the impact of the Jump-Start award, and help from many in the community.
This year’s expanded prize packages include for the grand prize winner $5,000 in start-up capital from Royal Credit Union to open a new business or relocate in Downtown Eau Claire. They will also be awarded a prize package from JB Systems and The Leader Telegram. In 2015, this award was named for Jim Mishefske, who served as the director of UW-Eau Claire’s Small Business Development Center and passed suddenly in 2014. The Runner-Up will also win $1,000 in start-up capital from Xcel Energy and a prize package from Spin Vision. The Innovative Idea winner will be awarded an entrepreneurial scholarship by the Small Business Development Center. All three awards come with a media package from Downtown Eau Claire, Inc. valued at over $500.
