National Women's Small Business Month Celebration

To celebrate October as National Women's Small Business Month, the Western Dairyland Women's Business Center is hosting a free event October 22nd from 5-7pm at Houligan's Steak & Seafood Pub at 415 S Barstow St in Downtown Eau Claire. Senator Kathleen Vinehout and local entrepreneur, Sam Zordich will present at the event.

2013 marks the 25th anniversary ofthe Women's Business Ownership act, which launched funding for what is now more than 100 Women's Business Centers (like the Western Dairyland Women's Business Center) across the nation. Among other things, the ownership act eliminated all individual state
laws that required women to have a male relative sign for a business loan.

CEO Sam Zordich, is a serial entrepreneur, having started and successfully
exited six companies prior to founding RAI Stone Group to revolutionize how financial information and knowledge is accessed, distributed, and used. She has applied her extensive leadership experience within 100's of small businesses as a growth consultant, turnaround specialist, and instructor at the University of St. Thomas.. She is a nationally published writer and speaker.

 

 

Sen. Kathleen Vinehout is a member of the Wisconsin Senate, representing the 31st district since 2007. Vinehout came to politics relatively late in her career after spending 10 years running thefamily dairy farm and the 10 years before that teaching health administration to college students. Her family continues to operate a 223-acre organic farm near Alma.
