Outside, the snow fell, but people warmed up by the fire, went on horse-drawn wagon rides, grabbed some cookies, hot chocolate and cider, and got to see a couple of Santa's reindeer that were also visiting from the North Pole! Thank you to Smiling Moose Deli, Parkside Pie, Infinitea, and Acoustic Cafe for providing our yummy treats!
Our lighting ceremony began with beautiful holiday music by the Eau Claire Memorial Madrigal Singers under the direction of Evan Lloyd. Students of the Swan Lake Ballet Studio performed a dance from the "Nutracker" just before City Manager Mike Huggins pushed the button, lighting the Downtown Tree! Thank you to Pleasant Valley Tree Farm for the beautiful balsam fir tree and to Senasys for use of the 'magic' button!
We also thank our valuable sponsors Xcel Energy, RCU, the South Barstow Business Improvement District, and the Mayo Clinic Health System for their continued support. We couldn't provide all of these great family activities without them!
What a wonderful way to begin the holiday season! Thank you to our volunteers and those who came to enjoy Christmastime in the City!
