DOWNTOWN RIVERFRONT DISTRICT

Valuable feedback and comments have been received on the preliminary plans presented at the public information meeting on August 4th. The design team of Ayres Associates and ETC Design Studio is developing a preferred alternative for street improvements on S. Barstow Street, Eau Claire Street, and river enhancements on the east bank of the Chippewa River.   A tentative schedule for presenting the preferred alternative includes the following activities:

 

  • Week of September 12, 2011 - Preferred alternative available on the project web site
  • Tuesday, September 20, 2011 - Presentation to Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Commission (BPAC)
  • Wednesday, September 28, 2011 - Presentation to Waterways & Parks Commission
  • Monday, October 10, 2011 - City Council Public Hearing
  • Tuesday, October 11, 2011 - City Council consideration of endorsing Preferred Alternative
  • Friday, October 28, 2011 - 30% plans and cost estimates delivered
  • November, 2012 through March, 2012 - Preparation of construction plans and specifications
  • May, 2012 through October, 2013 - Construction (Stages and Phases to be determined)

 

Presentation of the preferred alternative will also be made to the Downtown Eau Claire, Inc. (DECI) Board, the Downtown Business Improvement District (BID), and Library Board during their regular meetings in the next two months and to any other group or organization upon request.
