Eau Claire resident recognized as outstanding community volunteer

EAU CLAIRE, WI – As volunteer lead at the Eau Claire Regional Arts Center, Joanne Miller uses her leadership and organizational skills to cultivate an impressive group of more than 300 volunteers.

Miller’s volunteer duties include maintaining volunteer schedules, communicating with volunteers, and she is present at almost every one of the 200 events in the State Theatre to assist in volunteer management.

In addition, Joanne gives helpful and thoughtful advice concerning volunteer and organizational management making her a trusted member of the Center’s team. Joanne co-created the Art Center’s successful Friends organization, which continues as a major fundraising committee.

“Joanne furthers our mission by assisting the Eau Claire Regional Arts Center in presenting the visual and performing arts to the Chippewa Valley,” says Rose Dolan-Neill, Volunteer Coordinator at Eau Claire Regional Arts Center. “Without her help, and the support of her fellow volunteers, our organization would not be able to fully function as a Center for the Arts.”

Miller received a certificate of recognition from Volunteer Wisconsin the statewide office on volunteerism and this month is being featured as their June Volunteer of the Month.

“Her experience with the arts in Chippewa Valley gives us understanding and direction as we look to the future of the Arts Center,” says Dolan-Neill. “Staff at the Eau Claire Regional Arts Center constantly ask, ‘Where would we be without Joanne Miller?’”

As part of his recognition, Miller will be featured on the Volunteer Wisconsin website for the month of June. For more information visit www.volunteerwisconsin.org
