Posted: December 8, 2016 Downtown Eau Claire, Inc. To Present A New Family Festival in 2017
Eau Claire, Wis. – Downtown Eau Claire, Inc. will present a new family-focused festival in 2017 in Downtown’s Phoenix Park. “Family Day in Downtown” will highlight many of the exciting aspects of family life available throughout Downtown and the City of Eau Claire. Partners and participants will be drawn from the sport, recreation, school, healthcare, business, nonprofit, media, music and arts communities.
For the festival, Downtown Eau Claire, Inc. envisions using all of the facilities in Phoenix Park. Anticipated programming includes a main stage of music, a sports area, a demonstration and performance stage, and a family activity area. Local and regional crafts and food vendors, and community groups will be invited to setup booths along Riverfront Terrace. The afternoon will be capped by an outdoor movie on a large inflatable screen. The festival will be free and open to the public thanks to the anticipated support of sponsors and partners.
Family Day in Downtown will be scheduled for the afternoon and evening of a to-be-determined Saturday in July or August. Additional details on the festival will be released in early 2017 as the event is organized.
Special programming will be created to encourage festival visitors to explore the small businesses of Downtown’s South Barstow District. With the support of the South Barstow Business Improvement District (BID), Downtown Eau Claire, Inc.’s Summerfest will be retired after fifteen successful years.
