Festivals Committee

This committee meets at 8:00 a.m. in the North Conference Room of the Eau Claire City Hall.

Goal: Showcase Downtown Eau Claire during our one-day annual festivals.

Tasks:

  • Plan and promote Summer Fest (Annually in August)
  • Plan and promote International Fall Festival (3rd Saturday in September)
  • Plan and promote Christmastime in the City (1st Saturday in December)

Committee Mission

The Festival's Committee's main goal is to successfully plan, organize, and implement three major festivals downtown each year. These three festivals bring over 35,000 people to downtown, increasing foot traffic for the downtown merchants and exposing the Chippewa Valley and regional visitors to what our downtown has to offer. Many who come to enjoy a festival return again and again to experience other parts of downtown.

Committee Successes

The Festivals Committee continually works on improving the logistics, atmosphere, and activities offered. With these improvements, each major festival has seen a dramatic increase in attendance and has been more successful. This year will bring several new changes to Summer Fest with the addition of Civil War Re-enactors, a Cross-Fit Challenge, Kubb Demonstrations, a Log Carver, and several other new activities. International Fall Festival will host its own version of Masskrugstemmen, a traditional German Feat of Strength Competition.
